About Us
A piece of furniture, from a distance, is a sofa, a dining table, or a bed frame. Up close, it is boards joined together. We are used to looking at furniture starting from the boards. Because the boards determine the structure, and the structure determines the lifespan. Tabula Barcelona is located in Barcelona, selling all kinds of furniture. We work with Spanish and European suppliers and manufacturers. Every piece is checked before it leaves our hands. But what we care about most are the following four boards.
The First Board: The Tabletop
It must be flat, stable, and heat-resistant. A hot bowl of soup should not lift the surface. A child writing should not make it wobble. Chopping should not make it tremble. When we choose a tabletop, we first check whether the wood is dried properly, then whether the structure supports it. Good looks come later.
The Second Board: The Cabinet Door
It must be straight, smooth, and tight. It should not hang crooked when closed, should not creak when opened, should not leave a wide gap. Hinges must be aligned, wood must be stable – otherwise, after one summer, it will not close.
The Third Board: The Bed Slat
It must be quiet, resilient, and load-bearing. It should not squeak when you turn, should not sag when you get up, should still hold your sleep ten years later. We look at the connection method and wood density, not just the thickness number.
The Fourth Board: The Drawer Bottom
It is the least visible, yet it tests the conscience the most. Too thin and it bends. Poor quality and it cracks. Load it with heavy items and it drops. So we inspect it like a piece of furniture on its own.
Put these boards together, and you have sofas, armchairs, dining tables, dining chairs, bed frames, coffee tables, side tables, storage cabinets. We sell all kinds of furniture for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and studies. Solid wood is solid wood. Veneer is veneer. No blurring, no exaggeration.
These four boards are usually invisible to customers. But we believe what you cannot see determines how long a piece of furniture stays with you. Tabula Barcelona does not make the flashiest furniture. We make furniture you can use with peace of mind. If you are looking for a sofa, dining table, bed frame, or cabinet, come and talk to us. We are here.
